In the very heart of Canada’s capital, at Ottawa City Hall, the Ukrainian blue-and-yellow flag was solemnly raised today. On these days, as we honour the National Flag and celebrate the 34th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence, this moment carries special meaning.
International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression
Today on Parliament Hill, we came together for a solemn memorial, “Remember Ukraine’s Children,” held in observance of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. The gathering honored the memory of 631 Ukrainian children whose lives were taken as a result of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine.

On October 27th, 2024 Ukrainian Canadian Congress - Ottawa Affiliate and Hon. Dr. Stanley Kutcher hosted the special event with Mykola Kuleba, Ukraine's former Children's Ombudsman (2014-2021) and founder of Save Ukraine.

In partnership with the Embassy of Ukraine, on August 23, a solemn flag-raising ceremony took place in Canada. Our yellow and blue flag has been flying proudly at Ottawa City Hall since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, symbolizing the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

On May 16, in the heart of Ottawa, one of the most vibrant events of the year took place – Vysyvanka Walk. Embroidered shirts of various colors and patterns from different regions of Ukraine filled the city's streets, creating an atmosphere of unity, pride, and inspiration.
