VDOMA Hub & UCC Ottawa: An Evening Celebrating Remarkable Ukrainian Women
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Ottawa Branch, was pleased to welcome members of the community to a special evening dedicated to three extraordinary Ukrainian women — Lesya Ukrainka, Solomiya Krushelnytska, and Sofia Yablonska.
Throughout the event, participants explored lesser-known chapters of the lives of these remarkable figures, discovering inspiring, surprising, humorous, and at times deeply moving stories that highlighted their contributions to Ukrainian culture, literature, music, and public life. The evening provided a unique opportunity to learn more about the women whose legacy continues to inspire generations of Ukrainians around the world.
In addition to the engaging discussion, guests enjoyed coffee and refreshments provided by Zerno Café, sampled desserts inspired by the favourite recipes of our featured heroines, and even received a playful "fortune" from Lesya Ukrainka. These creative elements helped bring history to life and created a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all who attended.
