Immigration Information

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has a number of immigration measures for people affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The measures in place are to help Canadian citizens and permanent residents return home and to help Ukrainians come to and stay in Canada. One of the measures is the Canada-Ukraine authorization for emergency travel (CUAET) to help Ukrainians and their family members come to Canada as quickly as possible and to provide them with the ability to work and study while in Canada.

You can find more information about the measures here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/ukraine-measures.html

To apply for a visitor visa and an open work permit to Canada under CUAET here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/ukraine-measures/portal-application-ukraine-cuaet.html

Detailed instructions on how to apply for a visitor visa and an open work permit to Canada from Ukraine under CUAET are in this guide created by the FASKEN Law Firm: https://www.ucc.ca/2022/03/22/how-to-apply-for-the-canada-ukraine-authorization-for-emergency-travel-guide/
